Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

Q: What are your hours?

A: 24/7 for emergencies.

Q: What types of Nuisance Animals do you deal with?

A: Every single animal except domestic cats and dogs.  Albeit we will trap feral cats and pick up pets that have passed away but there are fees involved.

Q: What days are you closed?

A: None

Q: Are your services free?

A: No. This is not a City, County or State operated business. This is a private compaSbox traps. These are cage like boxes that have food (bait) inside and once the animal steps in the door closes. Since we check our traps every day, we are able to get them in a place where they belong without too much stress on the animal. We also take measures to make the animals as comfortable as possible while in the trap: cover during cold winter months and water bottles & shade in the cages during hot summer months.

Q: What do you do with the animals when you trap (catch) one?

A: We release all the animals that we are allowed to, by law, into wooded areas with permission – away from nusiance humans (smile). We have the animals best interest at heart. As an example: If we are releasing an animal that is active in the day and tucked away at night (Diurnal), we will house the animal until it can be released during the day. This allows the animals to find a safe place to be protected from it’s predators.

Q: How do we “catch” or trap animals?

A: We always opt for live humane trap and release the animals back into the wild, when allowed by law.

Q: Why pay a professional to trap animals instead of “DIY”?

A: You have no idea how many times we are called out on jobs where homeowners fell through the attics or have been unsuccessful at catching anything in their traps. If you trap and do any of the steps in the process wrong — you just became successful at educating the animal to avoid the trap. Each time you do this you make it harder and harder to catch the animal.

More IMPORTANTLY, when you are successful at trapping an animal what are you going to do with it? There are laws that govern the release of wild animals in each state. What animals you release, how you release them and where you do it all dictate whether or not you get smacked with a hefty fine. You, the homeowner, are subject to the same laws that the professionals are.

Q: Why trap the animals in the attic instead of just leaving them alone?

A: There are groups out there that advocate living in harmony with animals — we completely disagree with this. If you saw the nests in attics just ONE TIME you too would have a change of heart at living in harmony with animals. There are issues with fecal matter – they do not go outside to pop. Issues with diseases and parasites that they carry. Not to mention the bacterial, microbial and viral particles in their nests. That is why we remove all nesting areas and surrounding materials (insulation), sanitize and disinfect the attic, replace with eco-friendly insulation. Not only does it reduce the contaminants but removes odors so other animals will not follow the scent trail to a newly remodeled potential home.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: There are three methods of removing an animal from your property: Catching (by hand), Trapping or Exclusion.

TRAPPING FEES : Our normal trapping fee for ‘most” animals is $350. That covers one week (5 days) of trapping, daily trap checking, and all animal relocations.

LIVE CATCH FEES: Depending on the animal it usually  starts at $175 – $200. If we get called out for an EMERGENCY live snatch or catch, we have to drop our current call, pack up all of our materials and ladders and drive to the location of the call. If we get there and NO animal is present or can be located – the charge still exists. We charge a reasonable fee to catch or snatch the animal. It is not our fault that it is no longer there, or if it ends up being an extension cord and not a snake, or it ends up being a wig and not a raccoon.

EXCLUSION FEES: It is important that you understand that there are other fees related to keeping the animals out. These prices cannot be quoted over the phone or on this website since it is completely based on the specifics of the situation. We thoroughly inspect the property to determine where & how the animals are coming in and we provide you with a written quote. If accepted, while we are trapping we will exclude the animals by using hardware cloth, wire mesh, flashing, and other barriers to block all of the animals access points of entry into your property. We get them OUT & Keep them OUT!  FREE 2-year warranty with optional LIFETIME renewal!

Q: Why say “Most of the time” or “Most often”?

A: I hate to keep using generic terms such as “most of the time or most often” but we have seen some incredible exceptions in our field so we have to allow room for those situations without upsetting anyone. FAQ are also referring to: Frequently occuring situations.

Q: What does exclusion mean on your proposal?

A:      We thoroughly inspect the property to determine where & how the animals are coming in and we provide you with a written quote. If accepted, while we are trapping we will exclude the animals by using hardware cloth, wire mesh, flashing, and other barriers to block all of the animals access points of entry into your property. We get them OUT & Keep them OUT! It can also involve limiting access by trimming trees that are touching the house, cleaning gutters, pressure washing areas that attract animals with odors, etc. The technician will clearly define the need and our services will far justify the price.

Q: Is there an up-charge or extra fees for after hours, holiday or weekend emergency service calls?

A: Absolutely Not! For Emergencies there are no extra charges regardless of the time or day. HOWEVER – With that said if we get called out for an emergency call of a snake being behind a couch and we come out quickly in order to save possible lives froma venomous snake bite and it ends up being an extension cord – YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE SERVICE CALL. Make sure it is an Emergency. If we come out to hand capture a raccoon and when we get there and it is gone. You will get charged for the call. We take emergencies serious and drop all family, personal or professional activities, including sleep to help a person out – so in order to make sure you do not get charged make sure it is valid.

Q: If the service was guaranteed – what does it mean or cover?

A: When we do offer a guarantee it means that an animal will not regain access to the area excluded from by using the areas we excluded them from. Meaning… if we block an access hole by using hardware cloth and an animal comes back in through the same hole. We will retrap and exclude the entryway again. However, if they gain access via another hole not previously blocked (excluded) by us then there is no guarantee.  FREE 2-year warranty with optional LIFETIME renewal!

Q: What is a leg-hold trap and what does it do?

A: Sometimes we have to use what is called leg hold traps in order to trap an animal. We were asked the other day why anyone would use this to cut off a poor animals leg. I could not believe that society actually thinks this is the case. Leg hold traps simply close on a leg and hold the animal similiar to how police officers use handcuffs. It does not break the animals leg nor cut it off. That is horrific and we would NEVER advocate the use of these traps in our business.
